Vintage apothecary mortar & pestle
This has been very used and in well worn condition
Multiple stains and wear. Chips on spout

Antique mortar and pestle made by Thomas Maddock & Sons. Marked on the bottom T.M.S. Co Acid Proof. The company was originally founded in 1873 under Millington, Astbury & Maddock, changed to Thomas Maddock & Sons in 1882, renamed to Thomas Maddock's Sons Co in 1903 and sold finally the company was sold in 1929.
Bottom of the mortar are impressed markings of an "anchor and ribbon"which is surrounded with the words "Thos. Maddock's Sons Co. Trenton NJ". Also, additional marks; "T.M.S. CO. and "WARRANTED", "Acid Proof" Mortar is in good vintage condition considering age with chips on the lip/spout of the mortar. See pictures.
The pestle has a wooden handle with a ceramic tip and is marked with a "5"
